Today I thought to share one of my good change which i have started few months back to have healthy food, and the most effective meal of our day is dinner after breakfast.
Previously I never bother what i am having in my dinner and in what quantity. Then after in feb 2018 when started workout,my trainer told me that to have a heavy dinner and go to bed is the most worse thing we ever does to our body.So i decided to change my this routine and from daal chawal /dum aloo to saute veg my journey started.
And believe me it gives me an amazing result. So i thought to share my new experiment which is very easy to implement in our daily routine to make ourself healthy.
Sauteing is ideal for browning or searing food, especially vegatables. The term saute originally comes from French word Sauter -which means “to jump”.The process of sauteing is to cook a dish in a small amount of oil over high flame, making sure that the food doesn’t stick to the pan by making it jump in and out of the heat.Sauteing is one of the best way to cook vegetables,as it maintain their nutrients.Tossing the food in the pan is main feature of sautéing.
It’s very easy to saute veggies,Choice of vegetables are totally your’s.Generally I prefer (brocoli, babycorn, paneer, bell pepper, capsicum, onion, chilly, mushroom),firstly cut them into evenly sized pieces and add them to a hot pan coated with small amount of oil.You will be surprise to know that oil helps to lock in the nutrients.Don’t cook the vegetable too long, only until its get tender when poked with a fork.
I was also amazed when my dietician friend told me that upto 100 percent of Vit C and 75 % of Vit B can be lost if didn’t take care to minimize their nutrients losses during cooking.
Cut your vegetables into larger pieces, as the more cut surfaces are available, the more nutrients are likely to be lost, and don’t remove the peel if it is edible, since this is where many nutrients are found. Start sauteing your vegetables as soon as you can after you chop them so they don’t lose too many vitamins from exposure to air. Add citrus juice to make the iron more available, and use a small amount of oil when you saute to make the fat-soluble vitamins more readily absorbed by your body. Cook for the shortest time necessary at a moderately high temperature.Sautéing vegetables in olive oil ‘increases antioxidants and also helps in preventing cancer and diabetes.
ENJOY JOURNEY TO HEALTH.
Stay happy & healthy!
